We read every email and usually reply within a day.

Email [email protected] — for anything at all. If you're reporting someone unsafe, say so in the subject line and we'll look at it first.

Common questions

Why do I need a .edu email?

It's how we confirm you're a real student and put you on the right campus. You only see people from your own university, and they only see you.

I never got my confirmation email

Check your spam folder first — school mail systems are aggressive. If it still isn't there after a few minutes, email us and we'll confirm your account manually.

My school isn't listed

We support over 2,300 US universities, matched automatically from your email address. If yours isn't recognized, email us the domain and we'll add it.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. It takes effect immediately and removes your profile, photos, matches, and messages. It can't be undone.

Someone is harassing me

Open their profile, tap in the corner, and choose Report or Block. Blocking is instant — they won't be able to see you, message you, or appear in your Discover again. You can also email us directly, and if you're in danger, contact your campus police or local emergency services first.

Is Hall Pass free?

Yes. There's no paid tier and no payment information involved.

Is this a dating app?

No. Hall Pass matches roommates. Using it to solicit dates or sex is against the terms and will get an account removed.

Staying safe

We verify enrollment, not character. When you meet a potential roommate for the first time, meet somewhere public, tell a friend where you'll be, and don't send money or a deposit to anyone before you've met them in person and seen the place.
